Djurgården has elements that make it unique, elements that are appreciated internationally. Further development of this environment will strengthen Stockholm’s—as well as Sweden’s—position in the tourist industry. This has inspired us at KDI (The Royal Djurgården Society) to put still more effort into our common interests, all of which can be categorised in four areas:

The feeling that is special to Djurgården can be enhanced by various means—using everything from signs, lighting and park benches to major improvements. KDI’s environment work is carried out in collaboration with Djurgården’s grounds administrators, the Royal Djurgården Administration.

Djurgården can be reached on foot, or by car, bus, streetcar or boat. KDI collaborates with SL (Greater Stockholm’s Local Traffic), with the Real Estate and Traffic Administration, Stockholm’s Streetcars and the Djurgården ferry to achieve good traffic solutions.

KDI creates a common profile for Djurgården as a tourist destination in order to make Djurgården better known and more accessible to Swedes as well as international visitors.

Its closeness to the city and the wide variety of attractions Djurgården features provide the visitor with a wealth of opportunities. KDI’s co-ordination efforts are aimed at the long term and characterised by innovative thinking. KDI also works with travel companies to facilitate trips and travel packages to Djurgården.
